What is framilon tape

Mobilon tape also named framilon tape and TPU tape, which is firstly invented by Nisshinbo and issued with brand name “mobilon”. Mobilon tape is a kind of garment accessories. It is made from TPU raw material, which is clear, elastic and stink-proof. Because Nisshinbo is a Japan enterprise, mobilon tape was firstly appeared in Japan. Then spread to the whole world. As time goes on, the brand name becomes product name generally. As the custom, people in Asia and America call TPU tape as mobilon tape while who are in Europe usually call it framilon tape.

TPU tape is the elastic tape used for garment shaping. We can easily find TPU tape in shoulder part of T-shirt. Compared with woven elastic tape, mobilon tape can reach to a very thin thickness such as 0.1 mm. Though TPU tape can be colored in any solid colors, garment manufacturers prefer to buy clear mobilon tape in natural color. Because semi-transparent TPU tape is invisible and easy to be hidden. On contrast, colored TPU tape should have different colors to match different design of clothes. That’s of course a large cost.

Besides, mobilon tape has different produce process from woven elastics. Woven elastics is made from nylon and rubber, which is produced by webbing manufacturing machine.
